The most vital part of a paint job is how you look after the paint finishing after completion. The upkeep of the interior and exterior of a structure post paint works is essential to keeping your property appearing like new for longer.

The expense of re-painting a home is an expense that the majority of people would not want to include in their budget regularly than is needed. Keeping a newly painted finish correctly maintained can extend the life of the painted surface area and add a couple of additional years in between repainting. Here are our pointers on maintaining and looking after your paint task:

INTERIOR PAINTWORK MAINTENANCE

  • Suggested time to clean after a paint task is 2 weeks after application of the last top coat– this is to eliminate any dust which has been gathered.
  • Bulk of paints utilized on interior walls are washable.
  • This indicates they can be periodically cleaned with a milk soap water solution. Using a sponge and mild soap solution lightly scrub the areas that have any light stains or marks. Note that very old and stubborn spots are difficult to eliminate and should not be continuously scrubbed hard as this could result in long-term damage to the paint work.
  • To prevent stubborn stains make sure any discolorations are cleaned up quickly to avoid drying up and ending up being long-term.
  • Frequent cleaning helps maintain the look of the paint task and it is recommended to clean and wash walls once a month.
  • For locations vulnerable to dirt and marks, e.g. Children’s rooms, it is advised to get a single coat of paint done every two years approximately.
  • It is necessary that you regularly inspect your walls for any indications of peeling paint as this can be the first indication of more serious issues such as water damage or seepage issues. As quickly as you notice any issue locations it is necessary to get the professional suggestions from a painting professional and take care of and damage right away to prevent more serious problems.
  • Any locations exposed to sunshine, especially windows and door frames, will lose shine in time. It is recommended to apply a single coat every two years to keep them looking fresh.

EXTERIOR PAINTWORK MAINTENANCE

  • Guarantee you frequently check the outside of your home or business to ensure you are on top of any modifications or irregularities. Whilst gardening or pottering around the lawn be sure to do a visual inspection of your outside. If you discover any concerns such as peeling paint or other issues that are calling out for repair work make certain to have a professional contractor take a look at the concern and suggest ways to move forward without needing to wait up until the issue gets any even worse.
  • All window sills and door frames have to be looked for bubbles and fading. These features may have to be sanded back and re-painted with one coat to maintain that brand name new look every 2 years.
  • After you have checked for any problem areas or repairs it is essential to keep in mind how dirty the exterior is. It is necessary to sometimes wash down your outside as dirt begins to gather. The more frequently you do this, the less the develop. Annual cleaning is frequently stated as a condition of warranties provided by paint producers and painting applicators.
  • Please note that high-pressure washing can actually damage your paint finish. It is advised to perform regular pressure cleaning with your garden pipe and a soft brush to loosen up dirt. This will brighten your paint finish significantly.
Be proactive in your outside maintenance. This will guarantee your paint task lasts more years and will reduce the need for regular re-painting.
  • Failure to undertake proactive maintenance, especially the failure to annually wash outside surface areas might void the warranty provided by the paint manufacturer and painting applicators.

Palmerstown (Irish: Baile Phámar) is a civil parish and suburb in South Dublin, Ireland. It is located about 8 km west of Dublin city centre. The area is bordered to the north by the River Liffey, to the west by Lucan, to the south by Ballyfermot and to the east by the village of Chapelizod. Palmerstown village is situated near the Liffey Valley Shopping Centre. The area is situated near the major junction of the M50 motorway and the N4. It is 8.8 km from Dublin city centre. The Old Lucan Road, once the main route from the city to the west, passes through the centre of Palmerstown village.

A “palmer” in medieval times was a pilgrim who returned from the Holy Land with a palm branch or leaf.[2] Between 1185 and 1188 Ailred the Palmer and his wife took religious vows and founded a priory and monastic hospital of Crutched Friars outside the West Gate of Dublin, on the road to Kilmainham, which they endowed with all their property.[3] In 1188 Pope Clement III confirmed the priory’s grants, including the both the parish of Palmerstown west of Kilmainham and the other parish of Palmerstown northwards in Fingal.[3] Gerard Lee notes an association of palmers with leper hospitals, of which there was one dedicated to Saint Laurence in the townland of the same name in Palmerstown.[2][4]
