It is an amazing process to go through in getting your house painted. It is the equivalent of offering your house a face-lift. It will leave you and your home sensation revitalized, clean and like new. Although it can sometimes be a problem to have your home feeling like a work site, completion item is constantly rewarding.

The most fundamental part of a paint job is how you look after the paint finishing after completion. The upkeep of the exterior and interior of a building post paint works is important to keeping your property looking like new for longer.

The cost of re-painting a house is a cost that most people would not wish to include in their spending plan regularly than is required. Keeping a newly painted finish appropriately maintained can extend the life of the painted surface and include a few additional years between repainting. Here are our ideas on maintaining and looking after your paint job:

INTERIOR PAINTWORK MAINTENANCE

  • Recommended time to clean after a paint task is 2 weeks after application of the last leading coat– this is to eliminate any dust which has actually been gathered.
  • Majority of paints used on interior walls are washable.
  • This suggests they can be occasionally cleaned with a milk soap water option. Utilizing a sponge and mild soap solution gently scrub the locations that have any light discolorations or marks. Note that older and persistent spots are tough to remove and need to not be continuously scrubbed hard as this might lead to irreversible damage to the paint work.
  • To prevent stubborn stains make sure any stains are tidied up straight away to prevent drying up and ending up being irreversible.
  • Regular cleaning helps maintain the look of the paint job and it is suggested to clean and wash walls as soon as a month.
  • For areas vulnerable to dirt and marks, e.g. Children’s spaces, it is advised to get a single coat of paint done every 2 years or two.
  • It is vital that you frequently check your walls for any signs of peeling paint as this can be the very first sign of more serious problems such as water damage or seepage issues. As soon as you observe any issue locations it is essential to get the expert guidance from a painting specialist and address and damage immediately to prevent more major problems.
  • Any locations exposed to sunlight, specifically doors and windows frames, will lose shine with time. It is advised to use a single coat every two years to keep them looking fresh.

OUTSIDE PAINTWORK MAINTENANCE

  • Ensure you routinely examine the exterior of your home or business to ensure you are on top of any modifications or irregularities. Whilst gardening or pottering around the yard make sure to do a visual evaluation of your outside. If you discover any problems such as peeling paint or other problems that are calling out for repair work be sure to have a professional contractor take a look at the problem and advise the best ways to progress without needing to wait until the problem gets any worse.
  • All window sills and door frames have to be checked for bubbles and fading. These features might have to be sanded back and re-painted with one coat to keep that brand name new look every two years.
  • After you have looked for any issue areas or repair work it is essential to keep in mind how dirty the exterior is. It is necessary to occasionally wash down your outside as dirt starts to gather. The more regularly you do this, the less the build up. Yearly cleaning is often stated as a condition of warranties supplied by paint makers and painting applicators.
  • Please note that high-pressure cleaning can in fact harm your paint surface. It is advised to carry out normal pressure washing with your garden tube and a soft brush to loosen up dirt. This will brighten your paint finish considerably.
Be proactive in your exterior upkeep. This will ensure your paint task lasts more years and will reduce the requirement for regular re-painting.
  • Failure to undertake proactive maintenance, particularly the failure to every year wash outside surface areas might void the service warranty provided by the paint producer and painting applicators.

Blackrock (Irish: Na Creagacha Dubha) is a seaside village just to the south of Dundalk, County Louth, Ireland. The village is in the townland of Haggardstown. The current population of the village is about 3,000.

In the 1950s and 60s, Blackrock was a holiday destination for people in landlocked Monaghan and Cavan. The beach, which is pictured in colourised postcards of that era (still on sale), was created with sand imported from beaches further down the coast, as sand is continually washed away contributing to the buildup of silt in Dundalk Bay. Although it is no longer considered a tourist resort, there remains a tradition of visiting Blackrock on the 15th of August (vide the Celtic feast of Lúnasa).
