It is an amazing procedure to go through in getting your house painted. It is the equivalent of providing your home a new look. It will leave you and your home sensation revitalized, clean and fresh. Although it can sometimes be an annoyance to have your house feeling like a work website, completion product is always gratifying.

The most important part of a paint job is how you look after the paint finishing after completion. The maintenance of the exterior and interior of a building post paint works is vital to keeping your house appearing like brand-new for longer.

The expense of re-painting a home is a cost that the majority of people would not wish to include in their budget more often than is needed. Keeping a recently painted finish appropriately kept can extend the life of the painted surface area and add a couple of additional years between repainting. Here are our tips on preserving and taking care of your paint job:

INTERIOR PAINTWORK MAINTENANCE

  • Recommended time to clean after a paint task is 2 weeks after application of the final leading coat– this is to get rid of any dust which has actually been gathered.
  • Majority of paints used on interior walls are washable.
  • This indicates they can be regularly cleaned with a milk soap water solution. Utilizing a sponge and moderate soap option gently scrub the locations that have any light spots or marks. Keep in mind that older and persistent stains are tough to remove and should not be continually scrubbed hard as this could result in long-term damage to the paint work.
  • To avoid persistent spots ensure any discolorations are cleaned up straight away to avoid drying up and becoming permanent.
  • Frequent cleaning helps maintain the appearance of the paint job and it is advised to clean and wash walls as soon as a month.
  • For locations vulnerable to dirt and marks, e.g. Children’s spaces, it is advised to get a single coat of paint done every 2 years or two.
  • It is important that you often check your walls for any indications of peeling paint as this can be the first indication of more severe issues such as water damage or seepage problems. As quickly as you see any issue areas it is essential to get the professional guidance from a painting specialist and address and damage immediately to avoid more serious problems.
  • Any areas exposed to sunshine, specifically doors and windows frames, will lose shine with time. It is suggested to use a single coat every two years to keep them looking fresh.

EXTERIOR PAINTWORK MAINTENANCE

  • Guarantee you routinely check the exterior of your property to guarantee you are on top of any changes or irregularities. Whilst gardening or pottering around the backyard make sure to do a visual evaluation of your outside. If you see any problems such as peeling paint or other problems that are calling out for repair make sure to have a professional specialist take a look at the issue and recommend ways to move forward without having to wait until the problem gets any even worse.
  • All window sills and door frames have to be looked for bubbles and fading. These features may have to be sanded back and re-painted with one coat to maintain that brand name new look every 2 years.
  • After you have checked for any issue locations or repair work it is important to note how filthy the exterior is. It is essential to occasionally wash down your outside as dirt starts to gather. The more often you do this, the less the build up. Yearly cleaning is often stipulated as a condition of warranties offered by paint manufacturers and painting applicators.
  • Please note that high-pressure washing can actually harm your paint surface. It is recommended to perform regular pressure washing with your garden hose pipe and a soft brush to loosen up dirt. This will brighten your paint surface significantly.
Be proactive in your exterior upkeep. This will guarantee your paint job lasts more years and will decrease the requirement for frequent re-painting.
  • Failure to undertake proactive upkeep, particularly the failure to yearly wash exterior surfaces might void the guarantee provided by the paint manufacturer and painting applicators.
