It is an interesting process to go through in getting your house painted. It is the equivalent of providing your house a new look. It will leave you and your home sensation refreshed, clean and like new. Although it can often be an annoyance to have your house feeling like a work website, the end product is always gratifying.
The most vital part of a paint job is how you care for the paint finishing after conclusion. The upkeep of the exterior and interior of a structure post paint works is essential to keeping your property appearing like new for longer.
The expense of re-painting a home is an expense that many people would not want to include in their budget plan more frequently than is needed. Keeping a freshly painted surface correctly maintained can extend the life of the painted surface and include a couple of additional years in between repainting. Here are our suggestions on preserving and taking care of your paint task:
INTERIOR PAINTWORK MAINTENANCE
- Recommended time to clean after a paint job is 2 weeks after application of the final leading coat– this is to eliminate any dust which has been collected.
- Majority of paints used on interior walls are washable.
- This suggests they can be regularly cleaned up with a milk soap water option. Utilizing a sponge and moderate soap solution lightly scrub the locations that have any light spots or marks. Note that older and stubborn stains are difficult to get rid of and need to not be continuously scrubbed hard as this might lead to irreversible damage to the paint work.
- To prevent stubborn spots make sure any spots are tidied up immediately to prevent drying up and becoming irreversible.
- Regular cleaning helps preserve the appearance of the paint job and it is suggested to clean and wash walls when a month.
- For locations susceptible to dirt and marks, e.g. Children’s spaces, it is recommended to obtain a single coat of paint done every two years approximately.
- It is important that you regularly examine your walls for any indications of peeling paint as this can be the first indication of more major issues such as water damage or seepage problems. As soon as you discover any issue areas it is essential to get the professional suggestions from a painting specialist and address and damage immediately to avoid more serious issues.
- Any locations exposed to sunshine, especially windows and door frames, will lose shine over time. It is advised to apply a single coat every two years to keep them looking fresh.
EXTERIOR PAINTWORK MAINTENANCE
- Guarantee you regularly inspect the outside of your home or business to guarantee you are on top of any modifications or irregularities. Whilst gardening or pottering around the lawn make certain to do a visual examination of your exterior. If you discover any issues such as peeling paint or any other issues that are calling out for repair be sure to have a professional specialist take a look at the problem and advise the best ways to move forward without needing to wait until the issue gets any worse.
- All window sills and door frames need to be looked for bubbles and fading. These features may need to be sanded back and re-painted with one coat to maintain that brand name new look every two years.
- After you have looked for any problem locations or repairs it is necessary to keep in mind how dirty the outside is. It is necessary to occasionally wash down your exterior as dirt begins to gather. The more frequently you do this, the less the build up. Annual washing is often stated as a condition of service warranties offered by paint manufacturers and painting applicators.
- Please note that high-pressure washing can actually harm your paint surface. It is advised to perform normal pressure cleaning with your garden tube and a soft brush to loosen dirt. This will brighten your paint surface considerably.
Be proactive in your outside maintenance. This will ensure your paint task lasts more years and will decrease the requirement for frequent re-painting. - Failure to carry out proactive maintenance, especially the failure to each year wash exterior surfaces might void the service warranty provided by the paint producer and painting applicators.

Woodenbridge (Irish: an Droichead Adhmaid)[1] is a small village in County Wicklow, Ireland. It lies between Arklow and Avoca, at the meeting of the Avoca, Aughrim and Goldmine rivers. The village is located at the junction of the R747 and R752 roads. The R747 crosses the Aughrim on the stone bridge (see photo) which is still called “Wooden Bridge”.
The village was historically called Garrynagowlan, Garragowlan and Garnagowlan (from Irish: Garraí na nGabhlán, meaning “grove of the little forks”) after the townland it occupies.[1][2]
